The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the diverse cultures and histories of local Indigenous communities and must have demonstrated experience applying Indigenous knowledge in a professional setting, adhering to cultural protocols, and working with a culturally safe approach. Knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC) Calls to Action and a commitment to advancing reconciliation are essential.This is a camp position; the schedule willeither be 14/14 or very similar. Passing an alcohol or drug test is a condition of employment.DutiesA resource for supervisors in the fieldAssist with incidents and investigations,
providing guidance when neededFollow up and monitor corrective actions to ensure they are carried out and maintainedConduct site inspections, reporting all recognized unsafe acts and conditions, and provide guidance to supervisors to mitigate themCoordinate with supervisors on daily job tasksReview safety documentation to ensure it is current, relevant, and present for the scope of work being conducted on siteWork closely with the Health and Safety Manager to roll out and maintain current safety programsAttend daily safety meetings and help workers with any safety concernsConduct site‑specific safety orientations when requiredAct as a liaison between field medics, supervisors, and the Health and Safety ManagerQualificationsEducation level – NCSO or CSOMinimum 2 years of experience working in miningAs a Safety Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well‑being of our employees by promoting a safe working environment.
