Registered Practical Nurse - Staffing Resource TeamFull-timeDepartment: Staffing Resource TeamCompensation: CAD 38.42 - 39.02 per hourUnion:SEIU ServiceNumber of Vacancies: 10Replacement or New: NewSite: West Park Health Centre – The Reactivation Care CentreReports to: Manager, Staffing Resource TeamShifts: Day, Evening, Night, WeekendsHours: 1.0 FTE | 8 or 12 hour shiftsStatus: Permanent Full-TimeClosing Date: June 10, 2026Position Summary:The West Park Staffing Office manages nursing resource deployment across West Park and Reactivation Care Centre units to respond to staffing gaps, short-term vacancies, unplanned absences, and coverage for leaves such as sick time. As a Float Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), you will provide adaptable, quality patient care by stepping into various clinical environments as needed. On any given shift, you will seamlessly integrate into different care teams, rapidly assess changing unit priorities, and support diverse patient populations across rehabilitation, complex continuing care, or reactivation settings.ResponsibilitiesPlan, manage, and evaluate nursing care for patients and families within RPN scope of practice using a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach.Apply current theoretical knowledge, research, and clinical team input to plan and implement care.Actively participate in inter‑professional care planning forums, clinical rounds, and family conferences.Provide guidance and mentorship to RPN students and new staff members on the unit.Participate in professional, program, and hospital‑wide initiatives, remaining committed to continuous professional development.Maintain a strong commitment to patient safety by complying with all hospital plans, policies,
and procedures.QualificationsMember in positive standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Practical Nurse.Diploma in Practical Nursing from a recognized educational institution.Current Medication Administration certificate (if not integrated into diploma program).Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification at Level C.Eligibility for the Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG) program.Active membership with the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario (WeRPN) is preferred.Strong health assessment and clinical decision‑making skills, reflecting patient‑centeredness, problem‑solving, and critical thinking.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaborative leadership skills.Strong working knowledge of CNO Standards of Practice and applicable healthcare legislation.Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.Proficient with basic computer software including Word, e‑mail, and web applications, with willingness to learn internal hospital systems.A proven record of good attendance and punctuality.BenefitsCompetitive offer packages.Government organization and member of the Healthcare Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP).Close access to transit and UHN shuttle service.Flexible work environment.Opportunities for development and promotions within a large organization.Additional perks (multiple corporate discounts including travel, restaurants, parking, phone plans, auto insurance discounts, on‑site gyms, etc.).Additional InformationCriminal Record Check may be required.
