This individual will demonstrate sound judgement and anticipate risk to projects and timelines when obtaining Government security approval, assessing security requirements specific to projects, and communicating the same to both internal and external stakeholders. Responsible for continuous improvement; anticipates stakeholderneeds; demonstrates vision in advancing tools, technology, processes; well integrated in the Government security and controlled goods community to stay abreast of best practices. Demonstrate a capability to provide sound guidance and advice to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while also enabling the business to meet its objectives. Requires an ability to find creative solutions to problems.Job ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance in all aspects related to the Contracts Security Program (CSP) and Controlled Goods Program (CGP)Prepare and maintain Project Security Plans outlining all Government Security Regulations specific to the programs. This may include liaising with intelligence partners such as CSIS, RCMP etc.Prepare various reports on the status of Government approvals on Security of IT processing, physical security, document safeguarding,



etc.Stay apprised of the evolution of projects by attendance of various internal and external reviewsParticipate in the preparation of bids and proposal packages following the internal process from Bid – no Bid decisions to contract implementation and managementMonitor risks, elevate issues, and propose action plans or solutionsAdvise of Project Physical Security Requirements so that they are taken into account within MDA’s facilities in order to meet the appropriate security guidelines set out by the Industrial Security Directorate (ISD)Assist with Government inspections specific to projects as requiredInspections: Physical Security, Document Safeguarding, Classified Processing, COMSEC, and Controlled GoodsAdminister documentation related to visit clearance requests and oversee the procedures for internal visitorsRFVs – Each incoming and outgoing visit must be tracked officially identifying each visitor’s need to visit, including what they will access both physically and logistically (e.G., site visit, or access to IT systems)Coordinate the tracking, storage and delivery of outgoing and incoming classified documentation and informationAdvise, develop, and implement Security Requirement Check Lists (SRCL) specific to projectsProvide ongoing training and awareness to personnel regarding the Contract Security Program and the Controlled Goods ProgramEstablish and maintain resource lists to ensure all personnel are cleared appropriately based on rolePerform regular audits to ensure all areas of Government security programs are being adhered toLiaise with contractors working on security equipment and ensure the contractual conformity of their performancesAct as an Alternate Company Security Officer (ACSO)



when the Company Security Officer is not availableFlexibility of hours as on‑call after hours may be requiredOther related duties as requiredJob Qualifications and ExperienceA minimum of 4 years of experience in ACSO and/or CSO roleFull understanding of, and demonstrated experience with, the Canadian Contracts Security Program and Controlled Goods ProgramUniversity and/or College degree in business administration, law‑enforcement, IT security or related fields is an assetAbility to work in a team‑oriented environment and with minimum supervisionExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to deal with all levels of the organization and with external customersLiaise with multiple departments towards a mutual goalManage multiple high‑priority tasks simultaneouslyPossess good judgement and the ability to handle complex security screening filesMust be deadline‑oriented and flexible and be able to work under pressureSuccessful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITARCompensation and BenefitsMDA provides competitive compensation and benefits packages for its employees at all locations.
