Must-Have Skills
- Solid hands-on experience with Java
- Experience with Java 11/17 to Java 21 upgrades
- Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot
- Experience upgrading Spring Boot 2.7 to 3.5
- Strong experience troubleshooting Maven, pom.xml, dependencies, plugins, and build issues
- Experience with application modernization and migration projects
- Experience resolving compatibility and dependency-related issues
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and testing skills
Python experience is a plus but not mandatory.
Detailed
We are looking for experienced Java / Spring Boot Developers to support application upgrade and modernization initiatives. The primary focus will be upgrading applications from Spring Boot 2.7 to 3.5 and Java 11/17 to Java 21 , while resolving compatibility, dependency, build, and migration-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Upgrade and modernize Java applications from Java 11/17 to Java 21 .
- Perform Spring Boot upgrades from 2.7 to 3.5 .
- Analyze and resolve application compatibility and migration issues.
- Troubleshoot and fix Maven build issues, pom.xml configurations, dependency conflicts, and version compatibility problems .
- Update deprecated APIs, libraries, and dependencies as part of the modernization process.
- Make necessary code changes required for successful Java and Spring Boot migration.
- Perform application testing, debugging, and validation following upgrades.
- Identify and resolve migration challenges related to Spring Boot, Java, third-party libraries, and application dependencies .
- Work closely with development and technical teams to ensure smooth application modernization.
- Support troubleshooting of upgrade-related issues across development and testing environments.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Python experience as a supporting/fallback skill.
- Experience working on legacy application modernization projects.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated build/testing processes.
- Experience troubleshooting third-party library and dependency upgrades.
