We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Tutor to support students in achieving their academic goals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, strong communication skills, and experience working with children. This role involves providing personalized instruction in various subjects, with a focus on fostering confidence and academic success.
The Tutor will work closely with students to identify their needs and develop tailored learning plans in a positive and encouraging environment.
Duties
- Deliver 1:1 tutoring sessions (in-home or virtual)
- Support with Grade JK-8 Math, English & Science
- Prepare customized learning approaches based on the student’s goals
- Provide feedback after each session to keep the family updated
- Encourage confidence, independent learning, and problem-solving skills
- Maintain punctuality and professionalism
- Assess students’ strengths and areas for improvement to create customized lesson plans.
- Support students with homework, test preparation, and skill development.
- Utilize effective teaching methods to engage students and enhance their understanding of subject matter.
Skills
- Experience working with children in educational or tutoring settings.
- Strong background in subjects such as Math, English & Science.
- Teaching or classroom experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of special education practices to support diverse learners.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey concepts and motivate students.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including educational software and online learning tools.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods based on individual student needs and learning styles.
