About jobPath: jobPath is our six-week Employment Discovery Workshop for adults with developmental and other disabilities. jobPath is an Employment Discovery Workshop that's different from other employment services out there. We not only help people find a job, we specialize in teaching people how to keep their job and remain successful at work.
Who we are looking for: We are seeking a jobPath Instructor who will deliver the workshop, fill it, and open the employer doors that turn graduates into paid employees. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who enjoys seeing the positive impact of their work within the community. Your attention to detail supports your sound case management abilities.

As the jobPath Instructor, you will be responsible for:
- Delivering four six-week Employment Discovery Workshop cycles a year, covering resume building, interview preparation, workplace communication and job search skills
- Using person-centered teaching methods that adapt to each participant's learning style, literacy level and disability-related barriers
- Recruiting and enrolling participants, and owning the enrollment target for every cycle
- Building referral relationships with Developmental Services Ontario,
secondary schools, Ontario Disability Support Program caseworkers, community agencies, and families
- Conducting intake interviews, job readiness training, assessments and work ethic training
- Performing job development activities, including cold calling to build relationships with local employers
- Negotiating job placements, job carving and accommodations with employers
- Delivering on-site job training and support, and promoting the development of natural supports within the work environment
- Using licensed AI tools with participants for job matching, interview simulation, resume work, business planning and accommodation research. Full training is provided
- Running hands-on skill building placements at the Helping Hand Food Bank and in our social enterprises
- Providing input into assessments, participating in support plans and ensuring follow-up is complete
- Tracking participant outcomes and placement retention, and maintaining records for funder reporting
Competencies/Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to teach and facilitate groups of adults with diverse learning styles
- Experience in job development and on-the-job coaching
- Comfort with cold-calling businesses and the persistence to keep going
- Ability to work within relevant legislation, i.e., Employment Standards Act, ODSP, Supported Employment Guidelines
- Knowledge of local labour market trends and employment opportunities
- Ability to use counselling techniques to promote a positive, pro-active work environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take action using logic and a systematic approach
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Creativity in developing employment opportunities
- Understanding of the needs of individuals with developmental and other types of disabilities
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with employers and community partners
- Proficiency in the use of various types of social media
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management
- Working comfort with AI tools, or the willingness and capacity to learn them quickly
What you bring:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field (e.g., Developmental Service Worker, Social Services, Marketing, Business, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in job development, employment services, adult education, sales or business development, or a related field
- Valid Ontario driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Current First Aid, CPR certification
- Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector clearance
Compensation: $30.17 per hour starting wage The position: Full-time contract, 40 hours per week. This position is funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation through a three-year Grow Grant supporting jobPath. The contract runs to March 22, 2029, the end of the grant term.
