We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Journeyman/Red Seal Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in residential and commercial carpentry and a strong commitment to craftsmanship.
The successful candidate will handle a variety of carpentry tasks, with an emphasis on commercial steel stud framing. We need someone who is comfortable taking on steel stud work immediately while also supporting broader carpentry needs on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and assemble wood and other materials using hand and power tools.
- Build frameworks such as walls, floors, and doorframes.
- Install windows, doors, drywall, cabinetry, and other finish components.
- Repair or replace damaged structures or fixtures as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and secure tools and equipment.
- Train or mentor apprentices and junior carpenters when required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Carpenter (minimum 3 years preferred).
- Valid Journeyman certification or Red Seal endorsement (as applicable by jurisdiction).
- Proven experience with commercial steel stud systems (track, studs, bulkheads, T‑bar integration).
- Strong knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials.
- Proficient with tools of the trade (e.g., circular saws, levels, chisels, measuring tools).
- Good physical condition and stamina.
- Reliable transportation to job sites.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed on active construction sites and may require working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- May involve lifting heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), standing or kneeling for long periods.
- Must adhere to strict safety protocols and wear protective equipment at all times.
