Sterling Industries is looking for an experienced Journeyman Parts Technician to become the primary parts resource supporting our Service and Shop teams.

We are a mechanical and electrical industrial service contractor specializing in rotating equipment, pumps, generators, motors, controls, industrial maintenance, field service, and equipment repair.

This position is ideal for a Parts Technician who enjoys more than standing behind a parts counter.

You'll work directly with our field technicians, shop technicians, foremen, purchasing team, vendors, and customers to identify, source, organize, and deliver the parts required to keep jobs moving.

A major part of your role will be making sure our technicians have the right parts before they need them.

What You'll Do

- Identify and source parts for industrial and mechanical equipment.
- Support field-service and shop technicians with daily parts requirements.
- Research OEM and aftermarket parts using model/serial numbers, parts manuals, diagrams, and electronic catalogues.
- Prepare parts packages and job kits for scheduled field and shop work.
- Source emergency parts for breakdown and service calls.
- Obtain pricing and availability from suppliers.
- Process and track parts orders.
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments.
- Coordinate freight, returns, cores, and warranty parts.
- Maintain accurate inventory quantities and storage locations.
- Perform cycle counts and resolve inventory discrepancies.




- Ensure all parts and purchases are assigned to the correct job/work order.
- Assist with parts quotes and estimates.
- Maintain accurate parts and purchasing documentation.
- Communicate order status and backorders to technicians and managers.
- Maintain an organized, professional parts room and warehouse.
- Work closely with Service and Shop to anticipate upcoming material requirements.

What We're Looking For

Required:

- Journeyman / Red Seal Parts Technician
- Strong parts research and identification skills
- Experience with inventory control
- Strong organizational ability
- Excellent computer skills
- Strong communication skills
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Experience with industrial, heavy-equipment, mechanical, generator, pump, oilfield, municipal, or rotating-equipment parts is strongly preferred. Experience using QuickBooks, Excel, SharePoint, ERP/inventory systems, or electronic OEM parts catalogues is an asset.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional additional hours based on operational requirements

Compensation: Competitive and based on experience and qualifications

Benefits: Company benefit and RRSP programs subject to eligibility and company policy

Pay: $30.00-$42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50.0 per week
