We are looking for a Junior Kitchen Designer / AutoCAD Technician to join our team and grow with the company.

This position is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone at the beginning of their design career who is proficient in AutoCAD, eager to learn, and interested in kitchen design, cabinetry, and custom millwork.

No previous professional experience is required. Training will be provided to the right candidate.

We are looking for someone who is motivated, detail-oriented, organized, professional, and comfortable communicating with clients and industry professionals.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on position where you will be involved in the full design and project coordination process.

You will have the opportunity to learn how a custom kitchen and millwork project goes from an initial client meeting and site measurement to design, material selection, production, and installation.

You will work directly with clients, contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, and our internal team, giving you valuable real-world experience beyond simply creating drawings.

As you gain experience and demonstrate your abilities, you will take on greater responsibility and become more involved in managing projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities

Design & AutoCAD

- Create and modify accurate 2D AutoCAD drawings for kitchens, cabinetry, and custom millwork
- Develop kitchen layouts based on client requirements, measurements, and project specifications
- Prepare floor plans, elevations, details, and other drawings required for projects
- Make revisions to drawings based on client feedback and project requirements
- Ensure drawings are accurate, clear, and ready for production
- Review dimensions, clearances, appliance specifications, and construction details

Client Communication

- Participate in client meetings to understand their needs, preferences, and project requirements
- Assist clients with design decisions, materials, finishes, hardware, and functional layouts
- Communicate with clients throughout the design process
- Present design concepts and drawings for client review
- Respond to questions and follow up on project details in a professional manner

Site Measurements & Project Development

- Attend job sites to take accurate measurements




- Document existing site conditions and identify potential installation or design issues
- Translate site measurements into accurate AutoCAD drawings
- Assist with developing designs based on the actual conditions of each project

Suppliers, Contractors & Manufacturers

- Communicate with suppliers regarding materials, pricing, availability, and lead times
- Contact manufacturers to obtain product specifications and technical information
- Communicate with contractors and trades regarding project requirements and site conditions
- Request and compare material and hardware options
- Assist with coordinating project details between clients, suppliers, contractors, and production

Materials & Project Coordination

- Assist with selecting cabinetry materials, countertops, hardware, finishes, and other project components
- Prepare material and hardware lists
- Assist with obtaining pricing and preparing project information
- Coordinate design details with the production and installation teams
- Review projects before they move into production
- Assist in resolving design, measurement, material, and installation issues
- Maintain organized project files, drawings, measurements, and documentation
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining accuracy

Qualifications

Required

- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to understand measurements, dimensions, and technical drawings
- Professional and comfortable communicating with clients and industry professionals
- Eager to learn and develop new skills
- Able to work independently while also contributing to a team
- Reliable, motivated, and willing to take initiative

Experience Previous qualified experience is NOT required.

- $43,000–$50,000 annual salary, based on qualifications and experience
