Summit Water is looking for a Junior Mechanical Designer / Draftsperson to join our engineering team supporting Net Zero Water projects.
This is a hands-on design role working with our engineers and project team to develop drawings for packaged water treatment and water reuse systems. It is a good opportunity for someone early in their career who enjoys mechanical design, wants exposure to real-world manufacturing, and is interested in water treatment technology.
What You’ll Do
- Create and update 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks
- Prepare 2D fabrication and layout drawings using AutoCAD
- Produce multi-view drawings, sections, details, dimensions and BOMs
- Generate DXF/DWG files for sheet metal fabrication, laser cutting and machining
- Incorporate engineering redlines and maintain drawing revisions
- Assist with equipment layouts, piping arrangements and packaged system designs
- Work closely with engineering, production and project teams to ensure drawings are accurate and practical to manufacture
What We’re Looking For
- College diploma or similar training in mechanical design, drafting or engineering technology
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Understanding of basic mechanical drafting, dimensioning and tolerances
- Basic knowledge of sheet metal fabrication,
welding and machining
- Strong attention to detail and good self-checking habits
- Comfortable working in a team workplace
- Good communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Experience with water treatment, piping, pumps or process equipment would be an asset. We are open to candidates early in their careers who have a strong technical foundation, a good attitude, and a willingness to learn.

Wage: $25.00–$28.00 / hourly
