Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Route Supervisor to join our team in Port Coquitlam, BC. Working closely with the Route Supervisors and Operations team, you will assist with daily route operations, support drivers and collectors, ensure service levels are maintained, and help promote a safe and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in coordinating and monitoring daily waste collection routes to ensure efficient and timely service.
- Provide day-to-day support to route collection personnel and help address operational challenges.
- Monitor route completion and communicate service delays or issues to management.
- Support the enforcement of safety procedures, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with driver and operator onboarding, training, and coaching.
- Help coordinate vehicle maintenance and communicate repair requirements to the maintenance team.
- Respond professionally to customer inquiries, service requests, and operational concerns.
- Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and route documentation.
- Participate in route audits and identify opportunities to improve productivity and service quality.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, education in logistics, transportation, business, or a related field is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license required; Class 3 license is considered an asset.
- 1-3 years of experience in waste management, transportation, logistics, fleet operations, or a related industry preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications; experience with route management or dispatch software is an asset.
- Strong commitment to safety and customer service.
- Willingness to work weekends and after-hours when operationally required.
