Position1.0 FTE Permanent I.T. Cyber Security AnalystAll Board Locations. Internal/External Job Posting #4037009. Start Date: August 31, 2026. Location: TBD. Hours: 35 hours/week. Salary: $85,520.41 to $88,111.75 with Competitive Compensation and Benefits Packages.Position SummaryThe I.T. Cyber Security Analyst is responsible for leading and coordinating the operational cyber security program for the Superior North Catholic District School Board (SNCDSB) while supporting the secure, ethical and compliant use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies across instructional and administrative environments.This role provides hands‑on cyber security, risk management, incident response coordination and vendor/application security review along with the IT Manager. The position also supports AI governance and staff awareness to ensure that emerging technologies are implemented responsibly and in alignment with legislative, regulatory and Board requirements. The role works closely with the Information Technology Manager, Systems staff, Senior Administration and external partners to strengthen SNCDSB’s cyber resilience and digital trust.Position QualificationsPost secondary education in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security+, CEH or equivalent experience, or currently working towards these qualifications.Demonstrated experience in cyber security operations, IT risk management or information security.Experience working with cloud platforms and SaaS environments (e.G. Microsoft 365, Google Workspace).Good understanding of cyber security principles,
threat landscapes and defensive controls.Knowledge of identity and access management, endpoint security, patch and vulnerability management and incident response.Familiarity with data privacy obligations and public sector regulatory requirements.Foundational understanding of AI technologies and associated risks.Strong understanding of networking and network securities (e.G. IDS/IPS systems, web filtering policies, DNS, routing, switching, TCP/IP, NAT, VPNs, SD-WAN).Strong analytical and problem solving skills with sound qualified judgement.Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to diverse audiences.Demonstrated high degree of discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.Superior interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.Valid Ontario Driver’s License with access to a reliable vehicle and willing to travel throughout the SNCDSB district.Conditions Of EmploymentMust undergo a successful Vulnerable Sector Screening check; and successful completion of all Safety training courses.Equal Opportunity Employer StatementThe Superior North Catholic District School Board is committed to equity and inclusion in the recruitment of qualified staff who reflect and support the diverse perspectives, experiences, and needs of our students and school communities.
