WE’RE HIRING — PART-TIME KITCHEN & FOOD PREP

We are a small but quickly growing catering and premade-food business in the Lac La Biche Rural area looking for a dependable, hardworking individual to join our team.

This is a hands-on position in a busy kitchen environment. Reliability is extremely important to us. We need someone who shows up when scheduled, works well independently and as part of a team, and is willing to learn and take on more responsibility as the business grows.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Food preparation and prep cooking
- Dishes and kitchen cleanup, as well as food/supply storage and purchase with some light lifting
- Packaging and labelling prepared foods
- General cleaning and sanitation
- Assisting with catering preparation
- Taking on additional cooking and kitchen responsibilities as your skills develop

WHAT WE OFFER This isn't typical restaurant-line food preparation. Our focus is quality, homestyle food made with simple, real ingredients.

For the right person, there is plenty of opportunity to learn and develop real cooking skills, including:

- Preparing homestyle meals from scratch
- Making sauces, gravies, dressings and dips from scratch
- Working with quality ingredients and traditional cooking methods
- Preparing meats, vegetables, casseroles, side dishes and other homemade foods




- Learning larger-batch cooking for catering and prepared meals
- Developing additional cooking and kitchen skills as you progress

You don't need to know how to do everything when you start. A willingness to learn, follow instructions and care about the quality of the food you're preparing is important.

WHAT WE REQUIRE

- VERY reliable and punctual
- Own reliable transportation
- Able to communicate and understand instructions clearly in English
- Alberta-recognized food safety/food handler training
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen
- Able and willing to drive as we are a rural business located approximately 30 km south of Lac La Biche
- Willing to learn, take direction and work as part of a small team

POSITION DETAILS Part-time to start, with the possibility of becoming full time as the business grows.

Starting wage: Negotiable according to experience etc.

Probationary period: 3 months

As we are rural fuel costs may be taken into consideration for the successful candidate once the position is established.
