Job Summary

Shibuya Izakaya is looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Helper / Cook to join our back-of-house team. This is a hands-on position where team members assist with all areas of daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, dishwashing, cleaning, stocking, and maintaining an organized workspace.

The ideal candidate is dependable, works well under pressure, follows instructions, and is willing to help wherever needed. Previous restaurant experience is preferred, but we are willing to train motivated candidates with a solid work ethic and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

- Prepare ingredients, including washing, cutting, portioning, and organizing food
- Assist with cooking and preparing menu items according to restaurant standards
- Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and instructions from senior kitchen staff
- Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment as required
- Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, floors, and back-of-house areas
- Maintain proper food storage, labeling, rotation, and organization
- Receive, organize, and put away kitchen supplies and deliveries




- Restock ingredients and supplies during and after service
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures
- Assist with opening, closing, and general kitchen duties
- Work efficiently during busy service periods and support other team members as needed

Experience & Qualifications

- Previous restaurant, kitchen, or food-service experience is preferred
- Experience with food preparation or cooking is an asset
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices is preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, organized, and willing to perform a variety of kitchen duties
- Must be comfortable standing for extended periods and performing physical kitchen tasks

Pay: $16.00-$19.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 – 40.0 per week
