Position Overview:

We are seeking a high-performing Application Engineer – Team Lead to join a leading financial institution in Toronto. This role blends strong hands-on development expertise with team leadership capabilities, driving solution design, delivery, and a continuous delivery culture within an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable microservices and enterprise solutions across all lifecycle phases.
- Drive shared service strategies, automation, causal analysis, and the implementation of reusable components.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical and architectural issues.
- Guide and mentor development team members, fostering high performance and adhering to best coding practices.
- Collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders to communicate architecture decisions and business impacts.





Required Technical Skills & Qualifications 8+yrs of the following:

- Core Development: Solid hands-on experience in Core Java, Spring Framework / Spring Boot, Transaction Management, and Hibernate/JPA.
- Microservices & Messaging: Deep understanding of API and Microservices architecture at scale, XML, JSON, and event streaming with Kafka.
- Database Management: Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle DB, SQL).
- Containerization & CI/CD: Experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes, Git, and operating in continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) environments.
- Testing & Quality: Knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD), JUnit, and automated testing frameworks (Cucumber).
- Industry Domain: Proven IT experience in full SDLC (Agile/Waterfall), ideally within the financial services sector.
