Job Title: Lead Painting and Renovation Technician
Reports to: Joel Martin (Owner / Supervisor)
ABOUT THE POSITION To lead in the completion of residential and commercial painting and renovation projects, maintaining quality standards, communicating with clients, managing materials and tools, and keeping the job site organized and on schedule.
This is a full-time position for an experienced tradesperson who is confident working independently on residential and commercial renovation job sites. The successful candidate will have strong painting skills and solid carpentry and general renovation experience.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- $30-$40 per hour, based on experience, skill level and ability to work independently.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead Painting and Finishing - Complete interior and exterior painting, surface preparation, staining, drywall repairs and other finishing tasks to a high standard.
- Perform Carpentry and Renovation Work - Complete a variety of renovation tasks including, framing, trim, windows and doors, flooring, and general carpentry.
- Manage Job Sites Independently - Organize daily work, materials, tools and workflow to keep projects progressing efficiently and on schedule.
- Maintain Quality and Qualified Standards - Ensure all work meets company standards for workmanship, cleanliness, safety and attention to detail.
- Communicate with Clients and Company - Maintain professional communication with homeowners and the company, provide project updates, identify issues or changes and address problems proactively.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years of professional painting and renovation experience, with demonstrated ability to work independently on job sites.
- Strong knowledge of professional painting techniques, including surface preparation, drywall repair, caulking, masking, cutting, rolling, spraying, and staining.
- General carpentry and renovation skills, including installation and repair of trim, doors, windows, flooring, drywall, framing and other general renovation components.
- Proficient with hand and power tools and knowledgeable about proper tool use, maintenance and job-site safety.
- Excellent attention to detail with commitment to high-quality workmanship and clean, professional finishes.
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills with the ability to identity issues and find practical solutions independently.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects moving efficiently.
- Professional communication and customer-service skills with the ability to communicate respectfully and confidently with homeowners, contractors and suppliers.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, with the ability to travel independently to job sites.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This is a full-time position, with typical hours being between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, working Saturdays is sometimes required.
- Work primarily on residential and commercial renovation job sites, both indoor and outdoors.
- Regular exposure to dust, paint fumes, noise, varying temperatures and construction environments.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing ladders and working from heights.
- Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment including loads upt to approximately 50lbs.
- Must be able to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders and other construction equipment.
CONFIDENTIALITY AND DISCRETION Must maintain the confidentiality of all company and customer information and must not discuss such matters outside of work. Tact and discretion must be used in all dealings with customers and potential customers to maintain a positive image of Joel’s Painting and Renovations.
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
