Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments to ensure a safe and hygienic environment
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures, including restorative, orthodontic, and pediatric treatments
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays)
- Manage patient records using dental software such as Tracker, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist, greeting patients and scheduling appointments
- Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions
- Support orthodontic procedures by taking impressions and assisting with appliance placements
Requirements
- Valid license as a Licensed Dental Assistant in accordance with state regulations
- Proven experience with dental assisting procedures, including radiography and sterilization protocols
- Familiarity with dental practice management software such as Dentrix and Epic
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and pediatrics
- Experience assisting with orthodontic treatments is highly desirable
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a busy environment
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients of all ages, including pediatric populations
