About the PositionLocation: Brantford, OntarioSalary: $80,000 - $85,000This position will be based in Brantford, Canada. It will be part of a team of Supervisors responsible for the site and overall manufacturing performance (Safety, Quality, and efficiency of Spreads, Process, Packaging, and Warehouse operations) using the WCM operating framework. The Supervisor will have direct responsibility for all hourly production employees, including those on off shifts, and will work on continuous improvement projects individually and in teams.Core ResponsibilitiesOperational activities: Managing manufacturing activities during the designated shift by leading and motivating shift employees in all areas including safety, quality, efficiency and cost, and accountable for supervisory coverage for all shifts.Schedule coordination, labor crewing, safety, quality, site security, and behavioral management. Initiate temporary employee requisitions with department manager and HR manager.Manage employee timecards, sign off weekly, monitor vacation and absenteeism.Ensure employee health and safety by meeting legislative requirements, providing instruction on safety procedures, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and plant safety rules.Develop plans and activities to meet plant and PDP targets, including 3+1 targets, functional responsibilities, and projects for cost reduction, yield improvements and efficiency gains.Accountable for productivity during off shifts, including providing technical expertise, contacting resources for issue resolution, offering alternative duties during breakdowns or material shortages,
and adjusting crewing as necessary.Facilitate required training programs for new employees and refresher/recertification training (SHE, QA, Operation). Monitor POKA and CORE for training requirements and QA/Safety signoffs on daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly schedules.Manage shift employees to ensure cross‑training on equipment and areas reflects business needs.Communicate site targets and goals from the Leadership Team to shift crews consistently and accurately.Control fixed and variable cost expenditures.Support quality and food safety programs including HACCP and FSCC‑22000.Adhere to safety programs, escalating and documenting near‑miss and first‑aid cases.Reduce waste costs and minimize health, safety and environmental impact through proper waste and hazardous material management, and promote an eco‑efficient environment.Facilitate morning meetings reviewing performance and KPIs (OEE, ZBW, schedule attainment, downtime reason codes) and foster proactive planning and project management to achieve OMP projects.Lead weekly Shift COMs and convey safety, quality, operational results, and audit/visits to the floor team.Work with the department manager and CI manager to maintain AM methodology relating to equipment centerlines and update standards for deviations.Identify,
prioritize and address problems using appropriate tools and techniques to eliminate recurrence.Make decisions on in‑process problems, handle various job assignments, and complete root‑cause analysis to update processes when deviations occur.Manage multiple employees and personalities, and uphold a respectful and non‑confrontational work environment.Be a good team player, responsible, supportive, and an effective communicator; support cultural change.Communicate cross‑functionally with all departments (Warehouse, QA, Maintenance, Safety, Management) and coordinate with maintenance for equipment requiring preventive maintenance.Coordinate with schedule and warehouse teams to ensure daily schedule completion.Minimum RequirementsAt least 3 years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment.Experience managing safety culture, high‑speed packaging, food manufacturing, GMP, HACCP, and familiarity with KPIs such as OEE, ZBW, and schedule attainment.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.Ability to work with minimal supervision and within a team environment.Leadership and conflict management skills.Experience delivering business improvements.Demonstrated ability to support large‑scale change activities.About You!We look for a person who fits the responsibilities above and is ready to help grow our products and our organization.Sounds Delicious?
