About the Role
The Company is seeking a President and CEO to lead the next chapter of its tourism economy. The successful candidate will be a visionary and cooperative leader, responsible for providing strategic leadership and fostering a high-performing, inclusive culture. This role involves working with industry partners, communities, government, and stakeholders to advance the company's mission of stimulating long-term tourism growth and showcasing the region as a must-visit destination. Key responsibilities include leading a talented team, aligning efforts across various entities, championing evidence-based decision-making, and identifying high-impact initiatives to strengthen the tourism sector. The President and CEO will also be expected to encourage technology adoption,
support sustainable practices, and build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including the Board, government, and Indigenous partners.
Applicants for the President and CEO position at the company should have a post-secondary education in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate will have progressive executive leadership experience, a proven track record of leading complex organizations, and the ability to navigate diverse stakeholder environments. Strong financial acumen, exceptional relationship-building skills, and a strategic, collaborative leadership style are essential. Experience in tourism, destination marketing, economic development, or related sectors is an asset, and bilingualism in English and French is also considered advantageous. The role requires a leader who can bring people together around a shared vision, support the organization's commitments to reconciliation, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and ensure the effective utilization of resources within legislative and operating guidelines.
