Lighting Technician

Position Summary The Lighting Technician sets up, operates, and maintains lighting equipment for live productions, concerts, corporate events, and studio events. This role ensures all illumination meets visual and technical standards while adhering strictly to safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

- Setup & Rigging: Transport, position, and rig lighting fixtures, power cables, control consoles, and distribution systems according to plot designs.
- Operation & Control: Program and operate lighting consoles during rehearsals and live shows; execute cues accurately.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine inspections, clean fixtures, and troubleshoot electrical or hardware issues in office.
- Focusing & Adjustments: Direct, focus, and adjust beam angles and shutter cuts as needed.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce venue weight-load limits, electrical safety codes, and proper cabling techniques (cable ramps, taping).
- Teardown & Logistics: Safely strike, pack,



and load out equipment post-production; inventory gear for return.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Experience: 2+ years of professional experience as a lighting technician or stagehand in live production or film.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with lighting control software/consoles (e.g., GrandMA, ETC, Chamsys) and DMX/artnet protocols.
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights on ladders or lifts, and stand for extended periods.
- Certifications (Preferred): Aerial Work Platform (AWP) certification, Rigging or ETCP certification.
- Schedule: Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts.

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour Expected hours: 44.0 per week
