Position: Litigation Paralegal

Location: Surrey, B.C. with partial remote work possible after probation only

Hours: 40 hours per week either as 5 days per week at 8 hours per day, or 4 days per week at 10 hours per day

Salary: Commensurate with experience and performance and in the range of $57,000 to $67,000.

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

- Preparing documents for use in litigation such as demand letters, Notices of Civil Claim, demands for production of documents, Notices of Applications, releases, authorizations, etc.;
- Reviewing files to determine appropriate next steps;
- Interacting directly with clients including assisting with intakes;
- Preparing materials for court such as books of authorities, application records, and trial binders; and
- Providing general assistance to lawyers and other office staff.

Requirements: The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and traits:





- Paralegal certificate or previous experience in a litigation firm
- Familiar with litigation files and knowledgeable about court procedures for civil, family, and criminal matters in both Supreme Court and Provincial Court
- Strong drafting ability
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Solid understanding of law office policies and procedures
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent ability to multi-task, prioritize, and be detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Knowledgeable and comfortable with all common Microsoft Office programs
- Creativity and a passion for learning
