Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 About the Role Our client is seeking a Litigation Law Clerk / Legal Assistant to join their team and provide primary legal support to Kevan Wylie, while also assisting other litigation lawyers within the firm as needed. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is comfortable supporting files across different areas of litigation. Kevan's practice includes a mix of personal injury, employment law, and general litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities - Provide primary legal assistant and law clerk support to a litigation lawyer.
- Assist with the preparation, organization, and management of litigation files from beginning to end.
- Prepare and format legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and other court-related materials.
- Conduct legal and file-related research as required.
- Assist with document production, disclosure, undertakings, and other litigation processes.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date electronic and physical files.
- Manage deadlines, limitation dates, appointments,
and other important file dates.
- Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other legal professionals.
- Provide administrative and clerical support as required.
- Provide law clerk support to other litigation lawyers within the firm when needed.
- Work collaboratively with lawyers and staff across the firm, adapting to changing priorities and workloads.
Qualifications - Previous experience working as a Litigation Law Clerk, Legal Assistant, or Legal Clerk.
- Experience in litigation is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of personal injury, employment law, or general civil litigation is an asset.
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures and legal documentation.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple files and competing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice management software.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team setting.
