About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Assistant Controller to join our Edmonton-based team supporting a diverse group of companies. Reporting directly to the CFO, this full-time, in-office role is critical to maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely reporting, and supporting day-to-day accounting operations.The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing full financial statements, conducting variance analysis, and delivering reporting that supports strategic decision-making. This role also includes performing account reconciliations and supporting key transactional activities such as invoicing, accounts payable, payroll reconciliation, and regulatory filings.This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsLead month-end and year-end closing processesActive role in ERP roll outProcess GST returns, invoicing, some vendor invoice processingManage account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger accuracySupport the Staff Accountant with AP, AR, payroll,



and procurement functionsAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and management reportingConduct ad hoc financial analysis to support business needsSupport a variety of special projects, including those related to banking, tax, insurance, acquisitions, and other organizational needsEnsure compliance with ASPE, tax regulations, and internal controlsMaintain precision and accuracy under tight deadlinesQualificationsBachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field5–8+ years of full-cycle accounting experienceSolid understanding of ASPE and tax complianceProficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Odoo, Dayforce) and Microsoft Excel – experience using AI an assetStrong organizational and time management skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesERP system experience is a plusEffective communicator, able to present financial data clearly and confidentlyJob Type: Full-timeSalary Range: $100,000 – $110,000 annually (based on experience)#J-18808-Ljbffr
