SUMMARY:

The Royal Canadian Yacht Club is a world class yacht club with a mandate to promote excellence in competitive sailing and sports. The RCYC operates year-round from two facilities: our summer home at the Island Clubhouse and our City Clubhouse in downtown Toronto at St George and Bloor. With over 4000 Members we have extensive services in Food and Beverage along with Fitness, Sports and Sailing facilities.

The Fitness Appraiser is primarily responsible for monitoring fitness usage of both members and Non-Members, registering and administering the initial assessment and program designs for Members. The Fitness Appraiser is responsible for ensuring Member and Guest expectations are exceeded within the Club standards. The position must demonstrate effective communication skills, providing exceptional customer service while maintaining a qualified demeanor.

REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of fitness equipment and its’ proper use is essential
Minimum 1-year experience
Must hold a valid First-Aid and CPR-C Certificate
Exceptional customer service skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

JOB DUTIES:
Monitor Fitness Section Members and assist with equipment usage




Register recent fitness Members and guests, ensuring all paperwork is signed, shoe tag is provided etc.
Administer initial assessment and program design sessions for Members as needed
Keep Fitness Centre clean and tidy
Set up and tear down each fitness class during shift and collect attendance sheets for statistics
Ensure that small equipment room is clean, organized and locked after each class
Return phone calls once every hour within shift

HOURS OF WORK:
The Fitness centre is open from 6am to 11pm on weekdays and 8am to 5pm on weekends.
