Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable, organized, and patient-focused Dental Assistant/Floater to join our team. This role provides clinical and operational support throughout the practice by assisting dentists and hygienists, preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and helping ensure a smooth patient experience. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Support
Prepare treatment rooms before and after patient appointments.
Take and process dental radiographs
Prepare and organize instruments, materials, and equipment.
Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation.

Sterilization & Infection Control
Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments according to infection prevention protocols.
Maintain operatories and ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
Monitor inventory of clinical supplies and notify management when reordering is needed.
Follow all health, safety, and IPAC standards

Floater Responsibilities
Provide coverage for dental assistants, hygienists, or front desk staff as needed.
Assist with patient scheduling, confirmations, and administrative tasks when required.
Support team members during busy periods to ensure efficient clinic operations.




Help keep common areas clean, organized, and fully stocked.

Qualifications
Dental Assisting certification or diploma
Previous dental assisting experience is an asset.
Knowledge of dental software is an asset.
Solid understanding of infection prevention and sterilization protocols.
