About Epicater

Epicater is a fully managed corporate catering platform. We partner with great local restaurants to build daily meal programs for companies across the GTA, handling vendor selection, delivery, and on-site service so that lunch just works.

About the role The Lunch Porter is the person on the ground who makes lunch service run smoothly. You're at the client's office over the midday window: receiving the delivery, setting up the service line, keeping it tidy and well-stocked while people eat, answering questions about the food, and clearing down afterward.

It's a short, focused shift with a clear rhythm. It suits someone who is reliable, presentable, and enjoys being around people; hospitality, food service, or events experience is a natural fit, and this works well alongside school, another part-time role, or as a steady weekday routine.

What you'll do

- Meet the delivery driver, check the order against the day's manifest, and flag any shortages or issues to the Epicater ops team right away
- Set up the food service line: print menu, serving utensils, labels, dietary and allergen tags
- Keep the line looking sharp through service, replenishing, tidying, wiping down, and repositioning items as people go through
- Be a friendly, informed presence for guests: answer questions about what's being served, dietary options, and ingredients
- Break down and transparent the service area at the end of lunch,



pack out equipment, and leave the space as you found it
- Send a short end-of-service note to the Epicater team on headcount, leftovers, and anything worth knowing for next time

What we're looking for

- Punctual and dependable; the shift is short, so being on time matters more than anything else
- Comfortable and courteous with office guests; clear, friendly communication
- Tidy and detail-oriented; you notice a crooked label or an empty tray before anyone else does
- Able to lift and carry catering equipment (up to approx. 30 lbs) and stay on your feet through the shift
- Reliable smartphone access for day-of coordination
- Prior food service, catering, hospitality, or events experience is an asset but not required, we'll train you on our setup
- Food Handler Certification is an asset (or a willingness to obtain one)
- Legally eligible to work in Canada and able to invoice as an independent contractor
