Job Summary:

Join our team at our Toronto-based fresh vegetable and fruit processing facility as a skilled Maintenance Mechanic with mid-level experience to ensure the smooth operation of our production equipment. You will maintain and repair industrial machinery, including abrasion peelers, dicers, conveyors, optical sorters, and onion peelers, to minimize downtime and uphold our high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform routine preventive maintenance on industrial food processing equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues with abrasion peelers, dicers, conveyors, optical sorters, and onion peelers.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement timely solutions to reduce production interruptions.
- Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance during off-peak hours when possible.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts inventory, and maintenance schedules.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and workplace safety standards (e.g., HACCP, WSIB).
- Assist in training junior staff on basic equipment maintenance as needed.

Additional Duties:

- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Coordinator,



such as supporting facility upkeep or assisting during peak maintenance periods.

Qualifications:

- 3-5 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing or food processing environment.
- Robust knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting, and pneumatic controls.
- Experience with industrial food processing equipment (e.g., peelers, dicers, conveyors) is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Certification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) or equivalent is preferred.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Working Hours:

- Regular hours are based on the operational and production requirements of the Maintenance Department.
- Schedule may vary based on production requirements and maintenance needs.
- Weekend work may be required based on operational requirements.

Eligibility:

- Must have Permanent Resident (PR) or Canadian Citizen status, in line with company hiring policies.
