Hours: Approximately 16 hours per week

Wage: $20.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience

About Us

Ridgetown Community Estates is a non-profit housing provider offering both Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI) and market-rent housing to families in the Chatham-Kent community.

Our 30-unit complex is more than just housing — it is home to the families who live here. We are looking for a dependable, skilled and community-minded Maintenance Person to work alongside our Administration team to help keep our properties safe, well-maintained and comfortable for our tenants.

Position Overview The Maintenance Person will be responsible for completing general property maintenance, repairs, preventative maintenance and unit turnover work throughout our 30-unit complex.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently while also communicating and working closely with Administration to address maintenance needs efficiently and professionally.

Responsibilities Include

- Completing general repairs and maintenance within residential units and common/property areas
- Performing minor carpentry, drywall, painting and other general repair work
- Assisting with unit turnovers between tenancies
- Completing preventative maintenance throughout the complex
- Identifying maintenance concerns and reporting larger issues to Administration
- Troubleshooting general household and property maintenance concerns
- Picking up materials and supplies from local hardware and building supply stores as required
- Maintaining a clean and safe work area while completing repairs
- Interacting respectfully and professionally with tenants
- Working with Administration to prioritize work orders, repairs and property needs
- Assisting with other general property maintenance duties as required

Qualifications & Requirements The ideal candidate will:




- Have previous experience in property maintenance, residential repairs, carpentry, construction, renovations, building maintenance or a related field
- Be knowledgeable and comfortable completing a variety of general household repairs
- Have a Valid G Driver's License
- Have access to a reliable truck and be comfortable using their own vehicle to pick up maintenance materials and supplies from local stores
- Be dependable, punctual and able to work independently
- Have good problem-solving and time-management skills
- Be comfortable working in occupied residential units and communicating respectfully with tenants
- Be able to work collaboratively with Administration and outside contractors when required
- Understand the importance of maintaining tenant privacy, professionalism and confidentiality
