We are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our dynamic team at Trophy Foods. This position is for an existing vacancy and offers the opportunity to:

Overview: Provide strong, hands-on leadership with the maintenance team to ensure safe, reliable and efficient plant operations. Lead the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities, drive equipment reliability and root-cause solutions, develop team capability, and partner cross-functionally to minimize downtime and support operational priorities. Note: Flexible hours are required to provide support to all 3 shifts based on the requirements of the maintenance team.

Direct Reports include:

· 11 Millwrights/Electricians/Dual Tickets

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Promote and maintain a strong safety culture within the maintenance team, including conducting safety meetings, reinforcing safe work practices, and ensuring compliance with Company safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.

· Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to the maintenance team by setting clear expectations and priorities, assigning work, monitoring performance, following up on completion and holding team members accountable for results.

· Provide replacement/repair/fabrication of any type of mechanical and/or electrical equipment, providing practical and economical services to increase productivity consistent with corporate objectives.

· Maintain a strong and visible presence on the production floor, actively supporting the maintenance team in troubleshooting, prioritizing work, resolving equipment issues and ensuring repairs are completed safely, effectively and to standard.

· Oversee the execution and completion of maintenance work orders, verifying the quality and effectiveness of repairs, ensuring appropriate documentation is completed, and driving root-cause solutions to reduce repeat failures.

· Provide ongoing coaching, training, knowledge sharing and development to strengthen team capability, performance and accountability.

· Support the development of training materials and operating procedures, and participate in hiring, performance management, promotions, disciplinary measures and terminations, as required.

· Keep payroll system (ADP) up to date daily as well as approving vacations based on requests received from employees ensuring each shift is adequately covered.





· Coordinate maintenance coverage across shifts and deploy team members based on operational priorities, workload and technical capabilities to ensure appropriate plant support.

· Observe and drive forward continuous improvement suggestions and ideas that will benefit the overall flow of the maintenance shop and production floor.

· Plan and prioritize daily maintenance activities based on safety, food safety, production requirements, equipment criticality and available resources.

· Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organization within maintenance and production work areas, ensuring tools, equipment, parts and materials are properly managed and work areas are left safe and production-ready following maintenance activities.

· Aid in the development and oversee plant wide preventive maintenance program with future plans of predictive maintenance programs.

· Drive maintenance reliability and department performance by implementing leading reliability practices and monitoring key performance indicators, including equipment downtime, preventive maintenance completion and other relevant maintenance measures.

· Partner closely with Production, Engineering, Sanitation, QA and Operations to communicate equipment status, maintenance priorities, downtime, repair timelines and operational risks, providing clear and timely updates on actions taken, outstanding requirements and required escalations.

· Demonstrate solid organization and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage competing maintenance priorities, follow issues through to resolution and consistently meet required timelines.

· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Experience, Qualifications, and Educational Requirements:

· Trades Ticket Mechanical Millwright/Technologist/Technician

· 5+ years of related maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with strong hands-on mechanical troubleshooting capabilities and demonstrated leadership ability.

· Demonstrated leadership ability in a supervisory position. Able to set clear, reasonable expectations and hold staff accountable.

· Demonstrated ability to provide and maintain a safe and effective working setting with a thorough knowledge of guarding and LOTO procedures.

· Project development and supervisory experience an asset.

· Experience with condition based maintenance and Root Cause Failure Analysis.

· Working knowledge of budgets, process reports, and other financial statements an asset.

· Proficient with standard software products (Outlook, Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint, etc).

· JDE or other ERP experience an asset.

· Experience with BRC or food manufacturing facility an asset.

· Knowledge of HACCP regulations; and GMP regulations an asset.

Physical Effort:

· 80–90% of the workday may be spent on or around the production floor, leading and engaging with the maintenance team on troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, work prioritization and root-cause resolution.

· Occasionally engaged in one or more physical activities simultaneously.

o Eg. Walking, lifting and carrying heavy objects that weigh up to 25 kg, reaching with hands and arms.

· At times required to move between administrative and warehouse areas.

Work Environment:

· Exposure to factors such as humidity, noise level over 85dB and moisture/heat which will cause frequent periods of discomfort.

Sensory Attention:

· Frequent need to give concentrated attention, with one or two senses (talk, listen, read) used in co-ordination.

· Ability to apply common sense to problems involving mathematical skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplication, and dividing and written or oral instructions.

Mental Stress:

- Must thrive in quick paced, hands on environment.
