We are partnering with a large automotive manufacturer to place a Manager, AP/AR Operations on a 12-month contract at their Newmarket, ON office. This is a hands-on leadership role sitting inside a corporate finance team that manages financial operations across multiple entities throughout North America.

The team is mid-way through a process improvement initiative and needs someone who can hold the function together while that work continues in the background. You will own the day-to-day AP and AR operations, lead a team of four, and be the steady hand that keeps things accurate, controlled, and on schedule. If you do not need perfect conditions to do great work and can step in without a long ramp-up period, this role is worth a serious look.

Responsibilities

- Own full-cycle AP and AR operations including invoice processing, vendor payments, customer billings, collections, and cash applications
- Review and approve payment runs, expense reports, and vendor invoices in line with internal authorization policies
- Manage vendor master data, onboarding documentation, and compliance with internal control requirements
- Stay on top of AR aging and drive collections activity while keeping relationships with vendors and internal teams strong
- Support month-end and year-end close including reconciliations, accruals, and AP/AR reporting
- Prepare cash flow, intercompany,



and expense reports to support management
- Keep internal controls, approval workflows, and audit documentation tight and current
- Lead and develop a team of four, setting transparent expectations and holding people accountable

What We're Looking For

- 5+ years in AP/AR or accounting, with at least 2 years in a team leadership capacity
- SAP experience is required; SAP S/4HANA is a strong asset given the environment you will be stepping into
- Strong understanding of AP/AR processes, internal controls, reconciliations, and cash management
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Clear communicator who works well across teams and can manage competing priorities without dropping the ball
