The Toronto Blue Jays are looking for a Manager, Ballpark Experience & Operations, on an 18-month contract.
As a member of the Ballpark Experience & Operations team, the Manager, Ballpark Experience & Operations supports the planning, coordination, execution, and continuous improvement of game day and event operations that contribute to a safe, efficient, welcoming, and engaging fan and staff experience at Rogers Centre. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Ballpark Experience & Operations, this role provides day-to-day leadership across staffing readiness, onboarding, training, communication, event preparation, administrative coordination, and operational execution for baseball games, concerts, and special events.
The Manager plays a key role in translating departmental plans into clear staffing, communication, training, and execution practices that prepare teams to deliver consistent experiences across games and events. This role is responsible for setting expectations, supporting accountability, and helping lead a high-performing team environment that strengthens operational excellence and the part-time staff experience. This role requires sound judgment, strong decision-making, and the ability to collaborate across departments to support consistent execution and identify practical opportunities for improvement.

Responsibilities
- Support the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of game and event staff within Ballpark Experience & Operations, ensuring a strong talent pipeline and consistent people practices across the department
- Support staffing readiness for baseball games, concerts, and special events, ensuring appropriate coverage, effective deployment, and alignment of staffing plans to operational priorities and service expectations
- Provide direct leadership, coaching, and support to part-time coordinators, supervisors, and part-time people leaders, setting clear expectations and driving accountability, consistency, and engagement across teams
- Support the development and execution of training programs, resources, and communications that prepare staff to deliver a safe, service-focused, and operationally excellent event experience
- Support initiatives that strengthen the part-time staff experience, including recognition, communication, engagement, and process improvements that support retention, performance, and team culture
- Oversee staff attendance, availability, time-off requests, and related tracking processes, ensuring accurate administration and proactive resolution of staffing risks in collaboration with part-time scheduling coordinators
- Work collaboratively with the Coordinator, Game Day Operations, to ensure part-time staff receive timely and accurate communications of updates and information related to their role(s)
- Partner with Fan Services and other internal stakeholders, including Security, Facilities, Promotions & Events,
and relevant operational teams, to support event preparation, operational readiness, service recovery follow-up, and day-of execution
- Support incident follow-up, staff-related escalations, operational issues, and customer service matters in partnership with the Senior Manager, the Fan Services team, and other relevant stakeholders, ensuring appropriate documentation, communication, resolution, and trend awareness
- Oversee day-to-day departmental administrative functions, including invoicing, ordering, payroll-related coordination, filing, reporting, and operational documentation, ensuring accuracy, organization, and process compliance
- Working with the Coordinator, Game Day Operations, and the Uniform Inventory Coordinator, manage uniform and wardrobe-related processes, including inventory, ordering, distribution, and related staff support, ensuring operational readiness and consistency
- Identify, recommend, and help implement improvements to workflows, communication practices, and operating procedures to enhance efficiency, consistency, and service delivery
- Research industry and venue best practices and share practical recommendations that support innovation and continuous improvement in event operations and staffing experiences
- Serve as an in office operational leader for games and events, making informed decisions, providing visible leadership to teams, and acting as an escalation point as required
- Build strong working relationships across departments and contribute to a collaborative, accountable, and solutions-oriented culture that supports departmental and organizational goals
