Please do not apply if you are looking for a short term fly in -fly out position. This is a one year term position whereby the plumber would be required to move to the community. The employer, a local housing association, covers the cost of the move to the community and provides subsidized housing.
We are seeking a skilled residential maintenance/service Plumber to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and be able to work independently or as part of a team. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining residential plumbing systems such as water pumps, hot water heating, hot water tanks, etc. . A successful Plumber will have a solid understanding of plumbing codes and safety regulations, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures including sinks, toilets, and water heaters.
Work on forced air and boiler heating systems.
Perform routine inspections of plumbing systems to identify issues or potential problems.
Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various plumbing tasks.
Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project timelines are met.
Conduct heavy lifting as necessary for installations and repairs.
Adhere to safety protocols while working in office to ensure a protected working environment.
Skills
Robust mechanical knowledge related to residntial plumbing systems and components.
Proficiency in HVAC systems would be an asset.
Driver of a company vehicle
Minor electrical knowledge and experience
Knowledge and experience in working on oil burners, furnaces and boilers would be an asset but notif not knowledgeable, willing to learn.
Note: the wage includes hourly northern allowance.
