Senior Actuarial Analyst - CommercialZurich Canada Technical Underwriting is looking for a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our growing Commercial Business unit.Reporting to VP & Actuarial Director, you will support the pricing of new and renewal business as well as the development of effective premium / rating structures and strategies in support of business objectives. In this role, the Pricing Actuary will also directly support the transformation process of the Commercial lines ecosystem. You will partner with key stakeholders from the business, including market facing underwriters and global pricing teams to support business objectives.This position offers the opportunity to work broadly across Commercial lines and contribute to a wide range of pricing, portfolio management, and transformation initiatives.Zurich follows a hybrid work model requiring three days per week of in‑person presence in a Zurich, Canada office (including Toronto, Kitchener/Waterloo, Montreal), and may include time in the office or market‑facing engagements.What you will doA high level of responsibility, ownership, and ability to influence strategic decisions. Business in scope include traditional lines such as Property and GL and specialty lines such as A&H, Cyber, and Professional E&O and more.Provide consultation on actuarial models and risk issues.Develop pricing models, reflecting complex structures of accounts, high deductibles / SIRs,



and / or aggregates.Collaborate with market‑facing underwriters to deliver creative solutions to our clients and support technical underwriters on pricing decisions.Set and communicate the pricing algorithm requirements for production systems.Monitor performance of the business portfolios and track accuracy and completeness of key performance indicators.Constantly evolve lines of business, with endless opportunities to add value through recent insights and pricing techniques.Ensure the implementation of required governance processes, maintaining compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.Develop an international network as we often share and leverage insights on best practices with our global colleagues.Job Qualifications - What you bring to the tableRequired:Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics / Statistics / Actuarial Sciences, or other technical degree.5 Exams or near ACAS or equivalent international certification that is recognized by the CIA.3 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area.Experience with Microsoft Excel and / or knowledge of statistical analysis software (such as SQL and R).Preferred:Previous actuarial experience in Commercial lines of business.Near ACAS designation.Experience in multiple functional areas (pricing, reserving, capital management) valued.Ability to explain technical analysis results to non‑technical audiences.Experience collaborating on cross‑functional team projects.Strong verbal and written communication skills.At Zurich Canada, we are committed to pay equity. This range reflects the expected pay for the role across Canada and may vary depending on factors like office location, specific responsibilities, and individual qualifications.
