About the Role

We are currently seeking a full time Apprentice Finish Carpenter on behalf of our client, a growing Canadian provider of automatic doors, commercial door hardware, and security solutions.

This is an on-site position in Markham and is an excellent opportunity for someone with finishing or carpentry experience who is interested in developing their skills in commercial door hardware and installation.

The successful candidate will work in a shop environment, handling and preparing commercial doors and hardware, performing measurements and modifications, and assisting with various carpentry and material-handling duties.

Key Responsibilities
Install commercial door hardware, including hinges, locks, closers, exit devices, and related components
Measure, cut, drill, and mortise doors and frames
Operate a variety of hand and power tools
Prepare, wrap, and package doors and hardware for shipment
Sort, move, and safely handle doors and related components
Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment when required
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Assist with general shop and production duties as assigned




Follow workplace safety procedures and company standards
Work collaboratively with other team members to complete projects efficiently and accurately

Qualifications & Requirements
2–5+ years of experience in finishing, carpentry, or a related field
Experience working with commercial doors is considered a strong asset
Previous forklift experience or a valid forklift certification is an asset
Comfortable measuring, cutting, drilling, and working with hand tools
Ability to safely lift, move, and handle heavy materials
Comfortable working in a shop environment
Reliable, punctual, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented
Willingness to learn new skills and take direction
Solid teamwork and communication skills
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Must own basic hand tools
Must have steel-toe safety boots
Power tools will be provided
