ResponsibilitiesAdhere to the Province of Alberta, ENMAX Corporation, A.E.U.C. (Alberta Electrical Utility Code) and Occupational Health and Safety rules and regulations.Commission, troubleshoot, repair and maintain high‑voltage transformers, circuit breakers, instrument transformers and related equipment.Work on construction, maintenance and protection/control areas of high‑voltage electrical substations.Operate and maintain mechanical and electromechanical relays, remote terminal units (RTUs), SCADA systems, human machine interfaces (HMIs), protection and control circuits, and other relay‑related processes.Recognize, assess and control potentially hazardous situations in the work environment.Ensure proper care and use of vehicles, equipment and work sites.Qualifications & ExperienceMust meet ENMAX Corporation’s qualifications or be qualified under the Alberta Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship Education Act for the related electrical trade.Must have a proven safety record and thorough knowledge of Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and/or Protected Work Practices (SWPs).Will be qualified or able to qualify as a Power System Electrician under the Alberta Manpower Development Act.A certificate in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent is an asset.Good working knowledge of substation construction, maintenance, protection and control procedures.Comfortable working in underground confined spaces and adverse climate conditions.Knowledge of gas‑insulated switchgear and the Alberta Electrical Utility Code (A.E.U.C.)
