ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
Humans of HR has been engaged on a confidential basis to lead the search for a Manager - Human Resources & Office Operations on behalf of a well-established, profitable B2B SaaS company. Because this search is confidential, the company's name and identifying details are shared only with candidates who advance to the interview stage and sign a non-disclosure agreement. What follows is an accurate description of the chance, the mandate, and the ideal candidate.
This is a rare opportunity for an HR generalist who has spent their career inside SaaS and technology sales organizations ( preferred not mandatory) — someone fluent in the rhythms of a quota-carrying sales culture, comfortable being the trusted voice in the room on employee relations, and just as happy fixing a printer or negotiating an office lease as they are coaching a manager through a difficult conversation. You will be the first true HR business partner this organization has had, with the mandate and support to build the function properly from the ground up.
THE ROLE
Reporting directly to a Snr Member of the Executive Team- the Manager, Human Resources & Office Operations will own two connected mandates: building a modern, credible HR function, and ensuring the physical workplace runs smoothly, safely, and well. You will be a true generalist — equally comfortable navigating a sensitive termination, rolling out a new benefits plan, negotiating with a facilities vendor, or planning the next team offsite. No two days will look the same, and that variety is the point.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Human Resources
- Act as the organization's primary HR business partner, advising leaders and managers on employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary or termination matters with sound judgment and discretion.
- Own the full employee lifecycle — recruitment coordination, onboarding, performance review cycles, promotions, and respectful, well-managed offboarding.
- Build and maintain HR policies, the employee handbook, and practices that keep the company compliant with BC and Canadian employment standards.
- Administer compensation and benefits programs, partner with payroll, and manage leaves of absence.
- Lead employee engagement and culture initiatives that fit a fast-paced, target-driven sales environment — recognition programs, internal communications, and team-building.
- Coach and upskill people managers, many of whom lead sales teams, on performance conversations, conflict resolution, and day-to-day people management.
- Maintain the HRIS and employee records, and bring structure and consistency to processes that have historically been informal.
- Support workforce planning in step with an ambitious, growth-oriented sales organization.
Office Operations
- Own day-to-day office administration — facilities, supplies, mail, vendor contracts, and reception coverage — so the workplace simply works.
- Manage the office operating budget and negotiate with landlords, contractors, and service vendors.
- Champion a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming workplace, including health and safety programs and compliance.
- Coordinate workspace setup and equipment logistics for new hires alongside IT.
- Plan and execute company events, milestones,
and team offsites that reinforce culture.
- Serve as the go-to point of contact for every office-related need, across every department.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 5–10 years of progressive human resources experience, with meaningful, recent tenure specifically within the SaaS, Start up or technology sales industry — you understand commission plans, quota culture, and how to support a sales organization through growth.
- A true generalist mindset: equally credible leading a difficult employee relations conversation and solving a facilities problem — you don't consider any part of “HR and office” beneath you.
- Demonstrated experience handling employee relations, performance management, and terminations independently, with discretion, empathy, and legal soundness.
- Working knowledge of BC/Canadian employment law and HR compliance requirements.
- A track record of building or professionalizing an HR function from a lean or informal starting point.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the credibility to build trust with employees, sales leaders, and executives alike.
- Excellent organization and follow-through — someone who runs toward the details rather than away from them.
- CPHR designation (or working toward one) is an asset; a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field is preferred.
WHY THIS ROLE
- A rare blend of strategic HR ownership and hands-on operational impact — you'll build the function your way.
- Join an established, globally-serving SaaS company at an inflection point in its growth.
- A close-knit team where your work is visible, valued, and genuinely makes the workplace better.
On offer is a base salary between 80,000 to 95,000. This is an onsite role in Greater Vancouver
