The Downtown Community Safety Partnership (DCSP) is a made-in-Winnipeg approach to creating a safer and more welcoming downtown through the availability of cohesive support and non-emergency response to those in the community in need of support and assistance. The DCSP is committed to being a proactive downtown presence, providing prevention and outreach focused on long-term solutions, and to delivering a continuum of care that will help to effect significant change for individuals and the entire downtown community.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Manager of Mobile Assist and Connect (MAC247) will be an integral role for the Downtown Community Safety Partnership (DCSP), primarily responsible for the management of all MAC247 team members. This position will play a fundamental role in the on-going development of the DCSP MAC247 Team.

Key Highlights of Position:

Leadership

- Provide leadership, direction, motivation, and support to all MAC247 team members
- Provide support for the recruiting, development, and training of MAC247 team members
- Contribute to the development of the DCSP Strategic Planning
- Ensure key metrics are developed and monitored
- Lead and oversee MAC247 team members to ensure position duties, responsibilities, policies, protocols, and deliverables are being met and achieved

Human Resource Management

- Engage in recruitment process, supervise, and evaluate team members.

Program Management





- Ensure all MAC247 programs operate within budget.
- Ensure all operational requirements of program are identified on an annual basis.
- Provide status and analytical reports to the Director of Operations.
- Ensure statistics are accurately compiled by the supervisors and submitted on a timely basis.
- Ensure data is adequately incorporated into day-to-day MAC247 operations.
- Identify and coordinate all Workplace Health and Safety and training needs, and ensuring the Workplace Health and Safety Committee meets as per regulations.

Community Connections

- Facilitate information flow by responding to requests for information, including conducting presentations as needed to promote, share and educate the public and special interest groups and organizations about the DCSP.
- Identify key relationships that should be nurtured to benefit and promote DCSP, and network widely to establish and maintain community partnerships for the effective delivery of services.
- Represent DCSP on multi-disciplinary committees and community agency working groups, as assigned by Directors.

Qualifications

- Related or prior work, life and/or volunteer experience




- Three to five years of community program delivery experience with progressive responsibility (preferably in a community setting) considered an asset
- Post-secondary education is considered an asset, however relevant training/experience will also be considered
- Demonstrates strong personal leadership and a relentless passion for outreach work
- Respects and values the diversity of individuals and communities
- Ability to form qualified relationships with various stakeholders, partners, and community agencies
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with individuals of vulnerable and diverse populations
- Demonstrated understanding of the unique issues and barriers affecting vulnerable populations in downtown
- Manitoba Driver’s License is considered an asset
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification is considered an asset
- This role is subject to a Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, and a Child Abuse Registry Check, to be produced prior to commencing employment.
