The Office of the Fairness Commissioner is seeking a Manager, Operational Planning to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of key operational and business support functions. - Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic business and operational plans.
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations on operational priorities, emerging issues, and organizational risks.
- Analyze and synthesize complex information and data into clear,



concise briefings, reports, and recommendations for senior leadership.
- Coordinate the preparation of briefing materials, presentations, and other products to support informed decision-making.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to support collaboration, information-sharing, and issue resolution.
- Lead strategic projects and oversee operational functions, including human resources, communications, information technology, and regulatory practices.
- Provide inclusive and collaborative leadership by coaching, mentoring, and supporting a high-performing team.

Meet Your Current Team The Office of the Fairness Commissioner is a regulatory arm's-length agency of government that promotes fair, transparent, objective, and impartial registration practices across Ontario's regulated professions and skilled trades. Working with regulatory bodies and government partners, the office assesses registration processes, provides guidance and recommendations, supports compliance with legislative requirements, and helps drive continuous improvement to ensure qualified individuals have fair access to professional registration.

What you bring to the team

Leadership Experience

- Proven leadership experience coaching, mentoring, and developing staff to deliver results
- Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture
- Knowledge of HR policies, practices, directives, and collective agreements to support workforce management and employee development
- Experience implementing government policy, preferably, regulatory policy, by working with an arm's-length agency

Strategic Thinking and Analytical Skills

- Strong analytical skills to assess complex issues, synthesize information and data, and develop strategic recommendations
- Knowledge of regulatory policy and operations and proven ability to work with regulated entities through influence and collaboration
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify broader implications and align regulatory actions with organizational priorities

Business Planning and Operational Expertise

- Knowledge of business planning, operational planning, performance measurement, and service delivery frameworks
- Experience leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of business and operational plans
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and resources while delivering high-quality results

Communication and Relationship Management

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of briefings, presentations, reports, and correspondence
- Proven ability to provide concise, strategic advice to senior leaders and stakeholders
- Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to build partnerships and influence outcomes
