Job description:

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Millwork Detail Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for translating conceptual designs into detailed millwork shop drawings, coordinating with production teams to prepare cutting files, and supporting installation through explicit, accurate documentation. This role requires technical proficiency in millwork detailing, a strong understanding of materials and construction methods, and the ability to collaborate across design, fabrication, and installation teams.

Key Responsibilities:
Interpret architectural and design concepts into precise millwork drawings and technical details.
Prepare comprehensive shop drawings for review and approval, ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, and production capabilities.
Generate accurate cutting lists, material take-offs, and CNC-ready files for fabrication.
Create installation drawings and guidelines to support on-site construction teams.
Coordinate with project managers and shop personnel to resolve design challenges.
Revise and update drawings based on feedback from clients, consultants, and internal reviews.
Ensure all documentation meets project timelines,



quality standards, and manufacturing constraints.

Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Industrial Design, or related field.
3+ years of experience in millwork design or a related drafting role.
Proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant software.
Robust knowledge of woodworking materials, joinery, hardware, and fabrication processes.
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design drawings.

Assets:
Experience working with high-end custom millwork.
Familiarity with CNC machinery and programming requirements.
Proficiency in 3D modeling software for visualization and coordination.
Knowledge of applicable building codes and millwork industry standards (e.g., AWI standards).
