Location: Vancouver Island University (VIU), Nanaimo, BC
Shift: Morning Shift
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Morning Shift

Responsibilities
Clean and maintain assigned classrooms, offices, washrooms, common areas, and other designated areas.
Vacuum, mop, sweep, dust, and disinfect surfaces.
Empty garbage and recycling bins.
Refill paper products and other washroom supplies.
Keep assigned areas clean, organized, and presentable.
Follow NewGen Cleaning Services' cleaning standards and procedures.
Report maintenance issues, damages, or supply shortages to the supervisor.




Complete assigned cleaning duties within the scheduled shift.
Maintain a professional and respectful relationship with VIU staff, students, and visitors.

Qualifications
Previous commercial or janitorial cleaning experience is an asset.
Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
Solid attention to detail.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Able to follow instructions and established cleaning procedures.
Physically able to perform cleaning duties, including standing, bending, lifting, and moving cleaning equipment.
Valuable communication and teamwork skills.
Must be dependable and committed to maintaining high cleaning standards.
