Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess solid analytical skills and a thorough understanding of accounting principles. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, managing accounts payable, and overseeing budgeting processes. The Accounting Manager will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting corporate finance initiatives.
Main Responsibilities:
Supervise end-to-end accounts payable, including receiving, verifying, and entering invoices within required timeframes, and preparing payments on time
Oversee end-to-end accounts receivable, including issuing invoices and packing slips, receiving payments, and reconciling AR statements
Maintain accurate records and filing, ensuring documentation is properly coded and attached in the accounting/ERP system
Respond to vendor and customer inquiries and reconcile AP/AR statements of account in a timely manner.
Record and reconcile bank and credit card statements, match receipts, and resolve discrepancies and variances
Book and reconcile intercompany transactions
Support external audits from the accounting firm, CRA, and other government agencies
Lead monthly financial close and prepare financial reports required by government agencies and management
Prepare and file monthly GST returns
Perform other accounting and payroll duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred
At least 3 years of relevant experience for full accounting cycles.
Attention to detail and accuracy
Strong MS Excel skills
QuickBooks or ERP experience
Detail-oriented and organized
Excellent work ethic, self-motivated
