Advanced Equipment Inc. is looking for an experienced Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Richmond, BC.
This position is well suited for someone with strong hands-on experience operating manual lathes and milling machines who is comfortable working independently from mechanical drawings to manufacture and modify parts for industrial equipment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual lathes and milling machines
- Machine parts and components according to drawings and specifications
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining methods
- Measure and inspect finished parts using appropriate precision measuring tools
- Modify, repair, or manufacture components as required to support equipment production
- Maintain accuracy and quality throughout the machining process
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized
- Work closely with the production and fabrication teams to support manufacturing requirements
- Follow company safety procedures and safe machining practices
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on machining experience preferred
- Strong experience operating manual lathes and/or milling machines
- Ability to independently set up machines and complete machining work
- Ability to read and work from mechanical drawings
- Good understanding of machining tolerances and dimensional accuracy
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Experience in industrial equipment, machinery manufacturing, or custom fabrication is an asset
- Ability to communicate in Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented
Compensation $25.00–$36.00 per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated machining skills.
