About The African BoutiqueThe African Boutique is a growing retail business in Thunder Bay offering African clothing, accessories, cultural products, food products, and specialty grocery items. Our goal is to grow both our physical store and online store, increase customer traffic, strengthen our brand, expand our customer base, and increase awareness of the products available at The African Boutique. We are seeking a motivated and creative Marketing Coordinator to help develop and implement marketing strategies that support the continued growth of the business.

Position Summary: The Marketing Coordinator will focus primarily on promoting The African Boutique, its products, services, physical store, and online store. The successful candidate will work closely with management to develop marketing initiatives that attract new customers, retain existing customers, increase store visibility, support sales growth, strengthen the company’s online presence, and expand its reach in Thunder Bay and surrounding communities.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and coordinate marketing and promotional strategies for The African Boutique. Promote clothing, accessories, food products, grocery items, cultural products, special offers, and current product arrivals. Develop campaigns designed to increase customer traffic and sales.

Create and manage social media and digital marketing content.Support the marketing and promotion of The African Boutique’s online store. Develop digital product promotions and online campaigns to increase website traffic and online sales. Prepare promotional materials, advertisements, flyers, product promotions,



and other marketing communications.Conduct market and competitor research to identify customer needs, trends, and new business opportunities.Identify new customer groups and recommend strategies to reach them.

Support the growth of both the in-store and online customer base. Develop customer engagement and retention initiatives.Coordinate in-store and online promotions, seasonal campaigns, and product launches.Build relationships with community organizations, businesses, and potential promotional partners.Monitor marketing activities and evaluate campaign results.Prepare marketing reports and recommendations for management.Support the promotion of special events and community activities when required.

Qualifications: College diploma, university degree, training, or relevant experience in marketing, communications, public relations, advertising, business marketing, or a related field.Knowledge of social media and digital marketing.Familiarity with online retail, e-commerce, or digital product promotion is an asset.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.Creativity and attention to detail.Experience with multicultural markets is an asset.

About the Role: This position is primarily focused on helping The African Boutique grow as a retail business, both in-store and online, by increasing visibility, attracting customers, promoting products, supporting sales growth, and strengthening the company’s brand.Events and community activities may form part of the position, but the main focus is the marketing and growth of the business.
