The RN provides direct care to patients within the framework of the Registered Nurse. The RN works in collaboration with and interacts with all members of the Intensive Care Unit multidisciplinary team and other personnel. The RN demonstrates professional responsibility, and is accountable for own practice. The RN demonstrates actions consistent with hospital policies and procedures.The physical demands of the role may include but are not limited to sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and bending. The RN contributes to ensuring there is a safe workplace for patients, staff, and visitors.
Other duties as per job fact sheet.Skills and QualificationsCurrent Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses in Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Nurse in good standing requiredDiploma or Baccalaureate degree in Nursing requiredTwo (2) years' of current experience in ICU requiredBCLS, ACLS requiredCertifications for ECG, defibrillation, intravenous certification, IV medication, epidural, and pulmonary artery monitoring requiredCritical Care Program certificate requiredExcellent physical assessment skills requiredGood communication skills (both written and verbal) essentialProblem solving ability and crisis intervention skills requiredKeyboarding skills and knowledge of Meditech and OmniCell would be a definite assetDemonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis is requiredAs per the O.N.A.
