Lyric Automation Canada is an engineering and automation system integrator specializing in custom machinery, industrial automation, and robotic solutions. Our projects range from custom machine design and manufacturing equipment to robotic pick-and-place, palletizing, and material handling systems.

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Designer with strong machine design skills and practical, hands-on experience. The ideal candidate can take a project from concept and design through fabrication, installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning.

Responsibilities

- Design and develop custom machinery, automation equipment, fixtures, tooling, and mechanical systems
- Create 3D models, assemblies, detailed manufacturing drawings, and BOMs using SolidWorks
- Design mechanical systems incorporating pneumatic and hydraulic components
- Apply GD&T; and design for manufacturability
- Work with engineers, fabricators, suppliers, and customers throughout the project
- Support machine fabrication, assembly, installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning
- Identify and resolve mechanical issues during machine build and onsite installation
- Depending on the project, support integration of robots, cobots, conveyors, material handling, and other automation equipment
- Participate in customer-site installation and commissioning when required

Requirements
- 5+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably in industrial automation, custom machinery, or machine building




- Strong hands-on experience with machine assembly, installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning
- Proficient in SolidWorks and mechanical 3D design
- Good understanding of GD&T;
- Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Experience designing custom machinery, automation equipment, fixtures, tooling, or related mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong mechanical problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small engineering team
- Willingness to travel to customer sites when required

Assets
- Experience with industrial robots or cobots
- Experience with conveyors, sensors, machine guarding, and other automation components
- Experience in automotive or other manufacturing industries
- Knowledge of CSA/UL requirements for industrial machinery
- Engineering degree or engineering technology diploma
