Job Title: Front Desk Receptionist — Optometry Clinic (Will Train)

About Us

We're an established optometry clinic in St. John's, providing eye care and eyewear to patients of all ages. We're a small, busy team, and our front desk is the first thing every patient sees — it matters to us that it's a warm and well-run one.

About the Role

We're looking for a friendly, organized person to be the face of our practice. No previous medical or optical experience is required — we provide full on-the-job training. What we're really looking for is someone dependable who genuinely likes people.

What You'll Do

- Greet patients and check them in for appointments
- Book, confirm, and reschedule appointments by phone and in person
- Verify patient insurance coverage and private insurance claims
- Maintain accurate patient records in our practice management system
- Handle payments, filing, and general office duties
- Keep the reception and dispensary areas tidy and welcoming





What We're Looking For

- High school diploma or equivalent
- A warm, professional manner with the public — including seniors and children
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable with computers and willing to learn new software
- Reliable and punctual, and able to work well in a small team
- Able to stay composed and courteous during busy periods

What We Offer

- $21.00/hour to start, with training
- Regular weekday hours — [no evenings / weekends]
