The Human Resources Assistant provides essential support to the Human Resources department through the coordination of processes, management of HR documentation, maintenance of employee records, and handling of routine inquiries in a professional and timely manner.The successful candidate will support Good Shepherd's Mission, Vision, and Values while contributing to a respectful, welcoming, and service-focused work environment.Manage HR documentation and maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems while ensuring accuracy and compliance with record retention requirementsProcess HR transactions within HRIS systems, including new hires, terminations, employee status changes, and personal information updatesCoordinate meeting schedules, book rooms, prepare materials, and distribute agendas and minutes as requiredRespond to routine HR inquiries from employees and managers while escalating complex matters to appropriate HR staffPrepare and distribute HR documentation including offer letters,
employment verification letters, and other standard correspondenceCoordinate new hire orientation logistics, including scheduling, preparing orientation packages, and ensuring completion of required documentationCreate employee ID badges and maintain accurate records of badge issuanceSupport recruitment activities and hiring processes as neededMaintain HR supplies inventory and place orders as requiredProcess and track employee leaves of absence and maintain appropriate documentation and system updatesAssist with benefits administration including enrollment forms, employee changes, and routine benefits inquiriesSupport employee recognition initiatives, staff events, and other HR programs as requiredMaintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with professionalism and discretionWork collaboratively within the HR team and demonstrate Good Shepherd values in daily work practicesObserve all Good Shepherd health and safety rules and comply with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and organizational proceduresWhat You’ll Bring To Our TeamDiploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferredCHRP designation or currently working toward designation considered an assetMinimum 1-2 years of administrative experience,
