About Al Huda Elementary School (AHES): AHES is a non-profit, Islamic private school committed to academic excellence and character development. We offer a fully integrated educational program from Casa to Grade 11, combining authentic, faith-based knowledge and values with the Ontario Elementary Curriculum under the supervision of an experienced leadership team. About the role: We are seeking a qualified and experienced Middle School Homeroom & Language Arts Teacher to join our team of dedicated educators for the 2026–2027 academic year. This role will deliver engaging and effective Language Arts instruction while serving as a homeroom teacher and supporting students throughout their middle school experience. The successful candidate will help students develop strong literacy, communication, critical-thinking, and organizational skills while fostering their academic, personal, and character development.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging instruction in alignment with the Ontario Curriculum and school guidelines.
- Develop and implement lessons that support students’ growth in reading, writing, oral communication, media literacy, and critical thinking.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies, resources,
and technologies to create engaging and differentiated learning opportunities that meet the diverse needs of students.
- Integrate Islamic values, character development, and appropriate Islamic perspectives into the learning environment and daily classroom practice.
- Assess, monitor, and document student learning and progress through a variety of assessment methods, including assignments, observations, evaluations, and progress reports.
- Manage classroom routines and student behaviour effectively, using positive and age-appropriate behaviour management strategies.
- Communicate, cooperate, and consult with school staff as well as parents/guardians to serve the best interests of students
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, school events, and other duties as assigned.
Qualification & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field required.
- Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification is preferred.
- Proven teaching experience, preferably with Middle School students and/or Language Arts.
- Strong knowledge of English Language Arts instruction, including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, oral communication, media literacy, and critical thinking.
- Sound knowledge of Islamic studies and Islamic values within an educational setting.
- Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
- A creative, positive, energetic, and student-centred approach to teaching.
- Ability to successfully complete a background screening, as required by the School.
Pay and Benefits:
Remuneration for this will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. AHES offers additional benefits to full-time staff such as PD credits, access to AHES’s health plan and more.
