Tech Talent International (SI) supplies technical talent to a variety of clients ranging from Fortune (phone hidden) companies to small and mid-sized organizations in Canada/US and Europe.
We currently have a role as a Middleware Administrator - File Transfer (IBM Sterling) with our large consulting client on a long term project with a major investment bank in the downtown Montreal area.
Role: Middleware Administrator - File Transfer (IBM Sterling)
Type: Permanent
Location: Hybrid - Downtown Montreal, QC -(roles starts off 5 days in office for 1st 3 months, then turns into hybrid setup 3 days onsite, 2 days from home)
Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 + 9% bonus + 3-5 weeks paid vacation + 6% RRSP matching + benefits + sick/personal day + cell phone allowance + discounts for public transit and may other perks
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support and administer file transfer middleware platforms across Canada, the United States, and global environments.
Collaborate closely with middleware administrators located in Montreal, the United States, and Paris.
Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24/7 production support, including off-hours and weekend coverage.
Provide follow-the-sun support for systems in Paris and Asia.
Administer and support IBM Sterling technologies, including:
Connect Enterprise
Connect Express
Connect:Direct
Sterling File Gateway
Sterling Secure Proxy
Support file transfer protocols, including:
FTP
SFTP
PeSIT
Connect:Direct (C:D)
FTP/SSL
Provide guidance, recommendations, and best practices to internal clients and technology teams.
Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of team standards, installation procedures, and operational best practices.
Participate in API development initiatives for platform provisioning and automation.
Implement and maintain standardized methods, procedures, and processes across file transfer platforms.
Recommend software and hardware upgrade strategies as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory
Knowledge of file transfer technologies, specifically Sterling File Gateway, including key exchange and networking concepts.
Strong knowledge of Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems.
Experience with scripting languages such as Shell and Python.
Experience working in a 24x7 production environment.
Experience supporting distributed teams.
Experience with operational management activities.
Robust organizational and interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple teams.
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and team-oriented mindset.
Willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies.
English language proficiency.
Nice to have
Experience with Axway CFT.
Familiarity with ITIL processes.
French language proficiency.
