Job Title: Mobile Patrol Security Guard – Facility Monitoring (REO)

Schedule: Overnight shifts, after facility closing through early morning, rotating 7 days including weekends and statutory holidays

About the Role

You'll patrol a nightly route of City facilities in a marked company vehicle, checking that every building is secure after closing. That means physically trying doors, walking the grounds and perimeter fencing, checking outbuildings and City vehicles, and inspecting parkades deck by deck. You're the reason a break-in gets found at 2 AM instead of 7 AM. This is independent, detail-driven work for someone who is thorough and doesn't cut a check short because it's cold.

Responsibilities

- Complete scheduled after-hours security checks of City buildings, grounds and parkades on an assigned route
- Manually check all doors and confirm City equipment, vehicles and assets are secured
- Inspect parkade interiors — parking decks, stairwells, elevator lobbies and secure underground areas
- Visually inspect for vandalism, break-ins and suspicious activity; walk the perimeter, outbuildings and fencing
- Enforce no overnight parking or camping in City lots: ask the person to leave, or place a City courtesy warning, and log it
- Report break-ins, damage or criminal activity immediately to the Operations Centre,



and stand post until relieved if a building can't be secured
- Complete an electronic report with photos and GPS check-in for every facility, every night
- Wear and operate a body-worn camera as required

Requirements

- Valid BC Security Worker Licence and Advanced Security Training (AST) certificate
- Valid Class 5 BC driver's licence with a clean abstract
- Confident driving in Kelowna year-round, including winter conditions
- Current basic first aid certificate

- Clean criminal record check
- Comfortable working alone overnight, outdoors, in all weather
- Strong written English — your check reports go to the City
- Available for overnights, weekends and statutory holidays

Assets

- Mobile patrol or alarm response experience
- Experience with GPS-tracked patrol and reporting systems
- Knowledge of Kelowna's civic facilities
- De-escalation or crisis intervention training
